On December 20th, the International Multimedia Press Center "Russia Today" hosted a solemn ceremony of awarding participants in the All-Russian Action-Competition "The Donor’s Code. Mentoring." The year 2023 was declared the Year of the Teacher and Mentor by Decree of Russian President, Vladimir Putin.The competition was attended by representatives of educational institutions, authorities, NGOs and volunteer organizations, blood service institutions and individual participants from different parts of our large country.
On the eve of the event, Elena Firsova, leading specialist of the Donor Recruitment Group of the NMRC for Hematology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, presented successfully implemented projects to the participants of the All-Russian Action-Competition:
- the film "On the Edge of the Possible. Get Up and Go" by Artyom Aliskerov, athlete, blogger, ambassador of bone marrow donation and patient of NMRC for Hematology;
- the photo project "I will live!” which presented photographic portraits of patients of the NMRC for Hematology, united by successful experience in the fight against blood cancer;
- live broadcasts with the participation of doctors of the NMRC for Hematology on the most pressing issues of diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the blood system, a special section "question and answer", which made it possible to give a number of competent targeted explanations;
- videos with the participation of donors to promote blood donation, its components and donation of allogeneic stem cells (bone marrow), lectures with the participation of donors in educational institutions, as well as in institutions of all forms.
In her welcoming speech, Director of the National Health Development Fund, Elena Stefanyuk thanked all of the participants, organizers and partners of the campaign, stressing that everyone worked as one team.
On the stage of the multimedia press center "Russia Today", Elena Stefanyuk presented a statuette with the image of an owl, a symbol of prudence, wisdom and vigilance, to a representative of our Center.
The campaign "The Donor's Code. Mentoring" united over 720 thousand people in 62 regions of the country. As part of the campaign, over 5.6 thousand events were held throughout Russia, including more than 3.5 thousand events to replenish regional blood banks. One of the most significant results of the campaign was the replenishment of the bank of blood and its components: over 475 thousand people donated blood and joined the donor movement.
